Michelle and Andrew - OWNERS
Animals have been at the heart of both of our lives for as long as we can remember. I (Michelle) have been working with dogs and their humans for over 12 years as a certified professional dog trainer, specializing in behavior, reactivity, and puppy development. I am the owner of Surf Hounds and the virtual education center 4PawsIQ, where I help dog owners build strong, trusting relationships with their pets through force-free, evidence-based methods. I have previously owned a successful pet care business and am passionate about ensuring every pet in our care feels safe, understood, and loved. I also volunteer with Shore Saves and Mid Atlantic Bulldog rescue to help dogs find their furever homes! All dogs become part of my family and I wouldn’t trade a single second!
Andrew has dedicated his life to caring for animals, from volunteering at rescues to founding A to Z Pet Sitting, where he built trusting relationships with pets of all kinds. As a Certified Professional Pet Sitter and his degree in Companion Animal Science, he stays up to date on best practices to provide the highest level of care. For Andrew, every pet he meets is family, and he considers it an honor to be a part of their lives.
Together, we bring a compassionate and heartfelt approach to Furmaids, treating every pet as if they were our own. Your pet’s comfort, happiness, and safety are always our top priorities. As force-free certified professionals, we’ve committed to a strict code of ethics that guides us in using only positive, trust-based handling methods. This means no prong, choke, or shock collars—just patience, understanding, and techniques rooted in kindness and science. Every team member that works with Furmaids is fully vetted, background screened, and undergoes weeks of training in order to be the perfect addition to you and your pet’s schedule. Furmaids Pet Services only works with employees, so every team member is backed by Full Liability Insurance as well as Workmen’s Compensation so you have nothing to worry about!

My name is Kate Wagner and I was born and raised on the Jersey shore. I am recent college graduate from the University of North Carolina Wilmington with a degree in communication. I have a big passion for animal care, and currently have a 7 year old golden retriever Scooby. I love skateboarding, the ocean, and all animals. One day I hope to travel the world and achieve a career in Technical Writing.
Alyssa - TEAM MEMBER
Hi! I’m Alyssa I’m 24 years old and from the Toms River area. I’ve loved dogs my entire life and truly believe that building trust and a strong bond is the most important part of pet care. I move at whatever pace a pet needs, whether that means taking things slow or keeping up with their energy.
I’ve been in the pet care field for a couple of years, with experience ranging from grooming to daycare. When I’m not working, I’m a full-time dog mom to my 1-year-old mini dachshund and my little leopard gecko. I believe love and patience are the keys to happiness and success with any pet.
Isabelle - TEAM MEMBER
Isabelle is from Freehold, NJ and is currently attending Kean University studying Exercise Science. She one day wants to become a Physical Therapist! In her free time she loves to play pickleball and hang around friends and family. Isabelle is a huge animal lover. She was a proud owner of a Shiba Inu and misses him terribly, but now spends her time caring for her furry friends in the neighborhood. Being a student athlete in high school taught Isabelle to pay attention to details, being organized and always being a team player. She will always put her furry friends first. She has many years of experience and lots of love to give.
Mary - TEAM MEMBER
Mary has been with our team from the very beginning! Mary grew up in Virginia but has been a long time NJ resident! She has two cats at home, Lilly and Coal that she showers with love! She always gets excited when your furry friend has a kitty companion, it really makes her day! Mary has a big heart and loves all of the dogs like they’re her own!
